Lom & Skjåk Adventure puts a great deal in having a team of highly skilled and competent guides filled with knowledge of the local area. This to provide you with briliant and unforgettable adventures in the Norwegian nature.
We always make sure to have a certain number of guides on our trips.This is for your safety and convenience. Because of this we can easily adapt each trip to your level and preference. It is of a great importance for us to be able to provide you with guides and instructors that are service minded, and always ready to do their best to ensure that your stay with us, is as pleasurable and memorable as possible.
Yan Esclafert, 1974.
Guide and owner.Manager for the activities. Yan is responsible for the activities and the safety at Lom & Skjåk Adventure. He is also a guide and one of the owners. He has the B.E.E.S, that is the highest level of certification in river guiding in Europe.( This includes technique, safety, pedagogic and first aid).
After growing up at a rafting company in France, he has been travelling around the world, working as a river guide. Yan is a true kayaker, and he has been kayaking since he was 5 years old. Technically and steep rivers is the big favourite. Just mention the name Skjøli, and Yan starts dreaming.
Kari Hånsnar, 1975. Guide, owner and director. Kari is one of the owners of the company Lom & Skjåk Adventure. She is also a guide, and the director of the company. Kari is a native Skjåk girl. She has an education in sports, pedagogic, culture- and sports management at the Norwegian University of Sport Sciences. Kari is educated glacier guide, and she has been working several years as a glacier- and mountain guide in Jotunheimen.
Kari loves to show you the beautiful nature in Skjåk and Lom. She has also been one of the players in the Norwegian national team of Floorball for many years, competing in several World Cups.
Jenni Anette “Netta” Hånsnar, 1985. Guide.Netta is coming from Skjåk, and all her life she has enjoyed playing in the water. It was a natural choice for her to be a river guide and also a hydrospeeder. Netta is also a glacier guide, and she loves to guide groups to the mountains and the glaciers. When the rivers are freezing in Norway, Netta goes exploring other parts of the world.
Netta is also educated web designer and photographer. It is her that has been shooting most of the photos in lsadventure.no
Chris “Catfish” Horan, 1984. Guide.Chris is a real American, and always in a good mood. He is full of good (and bad) jokes and stories. Chris has the highest frequents for flipping in Lom & Skjåk Adventure, and he loves to take you for a swim in the river. Chris also loves to sing in front of all kinds of audience. Everybody has to listen to “The Chicken Song”.
Chris used to work at a bank. But has now changed into river guide in the summer and ski instructor in the winter.
Anna Gubhage, 1987. Guide. Anna is a tough Skjåk girl, and she loves to hydrospeed down the challenging and hard rapids. Anna has been working in the Army, but she has switched from uniform to wetsuit. She is also a glacier guide, and has a big interest in blue ice.
Anna has a special ability, and that is to never stop to be feminine. This can be expressed in many ways, f ex as Prada sunglasses when she is glacier guiding or the stiletto heels when she is arriving to the job.
Tom Andrè Hånsnar, 1980. Guide. Tom Andrè is a guide in Lom & Skjåk Adventure, and a unique one! He is both musician and river guide with great interest in nature and outdoor activities. Canyoning, caving and climbing are his favourite activities. If Tom Andre is your guide, you will always get the little extra. He knows very well the area and has a lot of stories to tell.
Gaël Caride Alvarez, 1981. Guide.Gaël is a guide in Lom & Skjåk Adventure. He has the B.E.E.S, that is the highest level of certification in river guiding in Europe.( This includes technique, safety, pedagocic and first aid) Gaël has experience from working in France, the Alps, Pyrenees, Basque contry, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Nepal, Peru and Morocco.
Gael is a full time river guide and kayaker. When he is not in Norway, you can find him in South America or maybe on a little trip back home in the Basque Country. Kayaking is his big interest, and if Gael is not working, he is most likely kayaking down some awesome rivers.
Benjamin “Ben” Moore, 1980. Guide.Ben is almost a native Skjåk people, since he has stayed in the area every season since 2004. He is an American that has lost his heart to Skjåk, and he has very good local knowledge both on and off the rivers. Ben is our own entertainer, and he can speak you through one whole day of rafting.
Ben is the tall guy in our company, and the only person we know using wetsuits with extra long legs. He is also a good kayaker, swearing in just using hand paddles.
